NEWSLETTER TO PARENTS (NOTICE OF RESUMPTION)

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BOY’S COLLEGE, ABUJA IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO PARENTS ON THE RESUMPTION OF JSS1, JSS2, SSS1, SSS2 STUDENTS FOR THIRD TERM 2019/2020 ACADEMIC SESSION. Dear Parents, We thank God for sparing our lives in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic and for re-opening of schools for Third term academic session. Sequel to the directive from Federal Ministry of Education that schools should reopen on the 12th of October. I hereby inform you that the school will resume on the, 12th of October 2020 for JSS 1, JSS 2, SS 1 and SS 2 classes. 2.) As part of the resumption protocol, the college has decontaminated and disinfected the entire compound in line with the guidelines for re-opening of schools. 3.) We have made necessary arrangement to ensure full compliance to all COVID-19 safety protocols such as social distancing, temperature checks, use of face masks, hand washing etc as stipulated by the NCDC guideline for school re-opening. 4.) Only students will be admitted through the gate into the college, while parents are restricted outside the college premises. 5.) There will be temperature check at the gate before students are admitted into the school. Any student with higher than normal temperature will not be admitted into the college premises. Parents are to ensure that their sick wards are fully treated before they resume. 6.) Students with underlying ailment such as asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes and sickle cell anaemia shall not be allowed into the boarding house. They are to remain as day students. 7.) Students are to comply with all COVID-19 safety protocols specified by NCDC while in the college. 8.) Please advise your ward to avoid shaking hands, hugging and sharing of items. Also, they should avoid touching their nose, and mouth with their fingers when not washed or sanitized. 9.) Hand washing points have been positioned at strategic points of the college such as the gate, classrooms, dining hall etc. To ensure regular hand washing. 10.) Students will be requested to present the original receipts of payments for Third term 2020 at the gate before admission into the school. 11.) Parents/Guardian are to report in the college clinic to pick their wards whenever they are invited in case of any emergencies. 12.) All boarding students are to come with the following items: - i) Mattress, ii) Three sets of uniform and Two sets of house wear, iii) One pair of black Cortina shoe, one pair of black sandals, iv) Notebooks and Textbooks, v) One packet of detergent (400g), One bottle of Hypo (500ml), One bottle of Dettol (500ml), vi) Hand sanitizer and Six rolls of tissue paper for your wards personal use, vii) Washable / reusable nose masks (minimum of five per student) whose colour must be according to the house wear of your ward. Please ensure the identity of your ward is sown on it to avoid sharing among students, viii) One spoon, one fork, one stainless cup and one stainless flat plate, ix) One mopping stick, and one bunch of broom, x) Two hand towels for cleaning surfaces. All these items must be presented at the school gate before students are allowed in. 13. The following items are not ALLOWED in the school. i. Cell phone ii. Package drinks/food iii. Boiling rings and other electrical appliances. iv. Videos games, camera v. Indomie noodles, raw or cooked food vi. Food warmer vii. Mufti (coloured clothes/and non-white singlet, ¾ shorts with parched pockets etc viii. New School Fees/Bill Payment Process

The Ministry has commenced a Central Billing for all unity colleges for School Fees Payment.

Fees Payment Process;

- Visit www.education.gov.ng

- Click on Federal Unity Colleges

- Find your school and click the link

- Login to school's portal using your username and password

- Select Payment/Bills

- Generate student Unique RRR

- Pay safely online or proceed to Any bank with generated RRR.

- Login to your portal and print your receipt

- Proceed to the bursary dept. with printed receipt.

STUDENT DATA UPDATE

In order to capture the full and correct details of our students, parents are strictly advised to login to their Parent Account frequently and update the records of their ward(s) as well as their own record.

Parents without email address are seriously advised to create one, as this will enable the school operators to periodically send Results directly to your mail box as well as other important information that is to be passed.

Students with incomplete information on their Account will not be able to view results nor perform any other task on the school portal.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR RESULTS!

Are you a Student or a Parent? Do you want to check result for any Session or Term?

Follow this few easy steps:

 

1. Click on the School portal link on the navigation above

2. You will find yourself on the school portal page. Now enter your username and password as provided to you in school.

3. When you have successfully logged in, as a Student, click on My Results OR as a Parent, click on My Ward's Result.

 It's as easy as that!

GET YOUR WARD ADMITTED TODAY

The College admits students from all over the country based on the quota system as laid down by the Government. There is no discrimination of any kind e.g ethnic or religious. Admission into Junior Secondary School or the Senior Secondary School depends on the academics performance of the candidates in the centrally organized examination by the Federal Ministry of education.


PARENTS NOT RECEIVING SMS PLEASE READ

Dear Parents, you have not been receiving messages from the college? The following reasons may be the cause;

1.    Your number may be activated on the Do Not Disturb Platform of NBC

2.    Your number may not be updated on the portal

 

 

A.    To deactivate DND, Use the steps below;

DND de-registration through SMS to 1909.

De-registration of DND services is easy and convenient through SMS. Send SMS STOP to 1909 from your mobile number.

You will get an SMS from your mobile operator confirming the DND (now NCPR) de-registration request.

Deactivate DND through voice call to 1909.

Dial 1909 from your mobile number and choose from either to speak with customer care executive or IVR (Interactive Voice Response system).

If you choose to speak with Customer care executive, ask the executive to de-register DND services (now NCPR). The executive will confirm the cancel request and you will get an SMS confirming your request.

If you choose IVR, follow the instructions to de-register your mobile number from NCPR (old DND) and you will get an SMS confirmation confirming the request

 

B.    Your number may not be updated on the portal;
