Federal Government Boys’ College Abuja was established in the year 1999, but took off officially in 2000. The college was designed to model after Kings College Lagos. At inception, it had a population of 120 students, with Chief A.U Nwadike as the pioneer principal (1999-2004). The college has so far had four other principals to date. They are:

Dr E.G Kutara (2004-2005); Alh (Dr) A.W Liman (2005-2008); Sir J.A Ebam (2006-2010); Mr C.O Eke (January 2011- August 2011); with Mr S.G Chega (2012-Date) as the current principal.

Federal Government Boys College Abuja has since grown into an institution to be desired by all and sundry within the Federal Capital Territory, and its environs. Presently, the student population stands at 1500, with a staff strength of 155 academic and 75 non-academic staff.

Although FGBC Abuja is still at its temporary site situated at Apo in Gudu District of the Federal Capital Territory, the college plans to run two campuses (Apo and Wuye campuses).

I am seizing this opportunity to welcome you to the official Website and Portal of Federal Government Boys College Abuja. The website was opened in February 2014, in the third year of my tenure.

It is our belief at Federal Government Boys College Abuja that hard work, diligence and character moulding will produce the desired citizens of our great country Nigeria.

Welcome!
